I haven’t seen this much hatred since Hitler and Stalin! Mr. Worley needs to be stopped and I wish everyone would reframe from addressing him as Pastorbas no man of God could posess so muc hatred! If we try to kill or destroy everyone we consider to be of sin, there would be no one left. This is not the teachings of Jesus. Jesus teaches love! I will pray for Mr. Worley to learn to love his neighbors, even if they are different from him.

I can totally identify with this whole “white privilege” thing…and I happen to be from Puerto Rico (currently living in Texas). I look more Eastern European/Middle Eastern; my facial features look very much from that area, and I happen to have lighter skin. I had been told that I do not look Puerto Rican by several people in the stateside. Plus, I had work with lots of Slav women…they all though I was Slav too and they are used to see people who look like them, so all they relied on were my facial features. Ah, if I go to a place where lots of other Latin American people are gathered, they look me with a weird face until I say something in Spanish, and even with that they don’t believe me when I say I’m from PR.

Let me get this straight….OMM takes a stand to get a show cancelled because they feel it would damage the future of our country?? You must be joking. I believe there is a show called The Secret Life Of The American Teenager (on a network named ABC FAMILY none the less)….AND 16 And Pregnant!! Where is the fear for our country’s future when it comes to these shows, OMM?!?! The problem here is that there is a HUGE lack of communication between parents and their children. I understand there are shows out there aimed at adults (GCB being one) and there are shows aimed at children/teens (ummmm….16 And Pregnant). As a parent it IS YOUR JOB to teach and direct your children. I think Fostertd makes a good point….maybe the mirror was a little too real for the eyes of some when it came to GCB. Too bad. People, do not forget we are human. Since when did an attitude of being high and mighty become part of the Christian requisite? I hate to say that I fear for our future as well….and it is not because of shows on television. I feel that a huge part of the religious community has lost track of what they should be standing for. And I fear that too many parents are allowing others to raise their children. Easier to blame than to take on the responsibilty upon yourself.

For Avengers 2 to be where it needs to be, They need Pym. He ties hawkeye into the mix. Joss did a great job getting the character to have potency. Pym is almost the central cog. He’s the human antithesis. you don’t want “realism” to take the theme. they did the realism. the point is not to be real it’s to be unreal. Pym is comic book. he’s like hawkeye’s buddy. They can go a step into more unreality. It seems they want to go the other way. Once they open pandoras box, they can do anything.. and they have. it’s open. they just have to believe.

Growing up in a small town in Northern California, I always felt different than everyone else. I am heading towards 70 years old this December, so there were not a lot of diversity in literature. That is, not until I moved to San Francisco and went to beautician school, met my first Gay male and started reading Armistead Maupin in the Chronicle-which lead to his first “Tales” book. I was in love, I was no longer different. Coming to San Francisco opened magic doors for me in both literature and life.
As a disabled senior, I now live to read. Everything I can get my hands on. I also Published 2 small books. Such a step for this Fearless Senior.

You’d think that since I began working in a bookstore at the age of 16 (and knew I was gay at 13) that it would have been easy to find out answers to every question I had. But, this was the late 70s and I did no research beyond plowing through the complete oovre of Gordon Merrick and memorizing issues of “Playguy” and “Mandate” magazines. I knew what I liked but I had no sense of history….until I read Vito Russo’s THE CELLULOID CLOSET. I’d always been a film buff and suddenly armed with Russo’s guide to homosexuality in films (dating back to Thomas Edison), I suddenly found my history. I wasn’t alone. I had ancestors on film…although at times you had to squint to see them. Vito Russo still remains my hero.

I knew I was attracted, erotically and emotionally, to other boys, but the only vocabulary I possessed to describe my feelings was provided by the Baptist church I attended. As you can imagine, none of the words were gay affirming. I don’t even know if I knew the word gay. At church, I learned that I was a sodomite, an abomination, a sinner. At school, I was a queer, a fairy, a faggot. We are shaped by language, by its power to name and assign meaning, to identify. Imagine being 16, struggling with identity, self-esteem, longing for affirmation and a sense of community, then finding The Front Runner at TG&Y, our local dime store. It told me that I didn’t have to be defined by the bigots around me. It gave me a way to imagine myself in relation to others who were like me. It gave me hope. It kept me alive.

I will keep buying from JCP. I actually did not look at the catalog this month. I ALWAYS buy from JCP. I did toss the new catalog this morning, cause I was straightening up my house. It is in the garbage in the garage and I cannot and WILL NOT, dig it out.

Does it even matter who is wearing what in a catlog??? Whether it be from JCP or another catalog. I would have NEVER even paid any attention to who was modeling, except to see if a child was cute or an adult was pretty or handsome.

These types of people need to get out of the CAVE (men/women) years, and grow up. WE ARE NOT BUYING the models in the catalogs, JUST THE CLOTHES/PRODUCT.

I would love to see what happens, when many of these ignorant people find out, eventually, and OH YES, some will, that one or maybe more of their children are gay, ect. Please do not tell me they will HATE their own kids/ siblings, ect??? AND not be in their life anymore. SO WRONG.

What is with all this hatred. If someone is not what WE think they should be, why is it wrong. This hatred and discrimination and S–T needs to stop immediately.

1.). Is a presidential signing statement legally binding?

2.). Is a presidential signing statement legally binding for future
presidents?

If the section of the legislation re: arrest and detention without
due process is unconstitutional, as it certainly appears to be, why do

The only reason people want the show canceled is because the truth is to hurtful. It was a good show. Done in very good taste. Not like the other shows that carry on about racial relationships, same sex relationships, teenage pregnancy, etc… So, I guess it was and is ok for our children and grandchildren to watch those shows.
What is wrong with our world today is that people do not respect each other and we took moment of silence and the Pledge of the Allegiance out of our school systems. We are to worried about what everyone else is doing instead of paying attention to our own children and families.
So, if the show hurt your feelings so much than maybe you need to look at the reason with in yourself; because there was not any sexual activity, cussing, or young teenagers trashing each other. How could the show bothering you that bad?
