Rep. Barney Frank, Democrat, Massachusetts

Dressed in black and born thirty years apart, two men vowed to love each other, according to Texas Rep Al Green, through Democratic and Republicans administrations and even appearances on FOX News. Today, the second openly gay member of Congress tied the knot with his longtime partner. Barney Frank and James Ready married, and uncharacteristically, told Reuters “We’re not doing any media today.”

Still, Al Green told the media that “Barney was beaming”, and that the seventy-two year old career politician even got teary. Frank and forty-two year old Ready were married by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick. This makes Frank the only married gay politician in Congress.
According to MSNBC:

After exchanging their vows, Frank and Ready embraced each other, Green said. “It was no different than any other wedding I’ve attended when you have two people who are in love with each other,” Green said.

Also attending the ceremony at the Boston Marriot Newton were Nancy Pelosi and Elizabeth Warren as well as many family and friends.
