Last night on the Daily Show, Jon Stewart had something interesting to say about the latest gaffe out of Vice-President Joe Biden. The fact that the noise that came from a lot of white Right Wingers was mostly one of outrage was noted, but there seemed to be little to no outrage from Black leaders. What Stewart noted in his piece is something that is relevant in the wake of the shooting at the FRC headquarters- those on the Right are incapable of hearing their own hatred.

In the second piece embedded here, Stewart runs several pieces which show off the fact that people like Sarah Palin cannot hear the hatred spewing out of their mouths. While Biden’s statement was not made with malicious intent, what Palin has said has tended to be far, far from nice and is, indeed, malicious in intent. The fact that the Right stirs up hatred but is incapable of hearing it is something that we should keep in mind moving forward.
